BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Naveen Patil serves the Arkansas Department of Health as the Medical Director for HIV/STI/TB/Hepatitis sections. He is also the Project Director of the Hansen’s Program grant. He directs patient care activities for the TB program and also guides clinical personnel at the Local Health Units and other facilities in HIV/STI care. Dr. Patil is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and holds a voluntary faculty position in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, College of Medicine. He has Master’s degrees in Health Services Administration and Gerontology.
Dr. Naveen Patil is an accomplished speaker and has presented at various regional, national and international meetings. He was awarded the highest honor for TB control efforts in USA in the year 2013. Dr. Patil has published several journal articles and presented several posters at National and International meetings. He serves on the Board of National Tuberculosis Controllers Association and on Advisory Board of Heartland National TB Center and HIV/STI Prevention Training Center at University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, HIV Medical Association, International AIDS Society, International Society of Infectious Diseases and several other professional organizations.
