Retractions

How Scholarena handles manuscripts that are returned, withdrawn, or retracted — transparent processes at every stage.

Returned manuscripts

We maintain a consistent policy. A submitted manuscript will be returned to the author, or held without initiating the review process, if any of the following conditions arise:

  • Abstract or reference format problems
  • Figures or tables missing or not included
  • Plagiarism beyond the accepted threshold
  • Manuscript language other than English

The author is expected to revise and resubmit the manuscript at the earliest.

Article withdrawal

Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript within three days after submission (before peer review begins). Authors should submit a signed statement to the editorial office requesting withdrawal, along with clear reasons.

  • Ensure you have conclusive evidence to support your decision to withdraw.
  • Withdrawal is officially confirmed only by editorial notification.
  • Any publication charge already paid will not be refunded.
  • If authors do not reply to communication after multiple reminders at any stage of the publication process, Scholarena reserves the right to disclose the conduct and content of the manuscript without further author approval, and cannot be held responsible for consequences arising.

Withdrawal timing fees

When withdrawal is proposedFee
Within 3 days of submission (before peer review)No fee
After peer review has begun35% of the publication fee

Editorial teams, reviewers, and support staff invest significant effort into every manuscript. Please consult our Publication Ethics and Author Guidelines before submission to avoid late-stage withdrawal.

Retractions

When a published article is found to contain serious errors, evidence of misconduct, or duplicate publication, Scholarena may issue a retraction. Retractions are published as a linked notice on the original article page and are clearly marked on every page of the PDF.

If an author discovers a significant error in their own published work, it is their obligation to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate with corrective action.
